Odd, one would think they'd bring in the best qualified for the jobs. 

Kidding aside, I don't think it will be healthy for any society to allow sex for sale. I don't care if an adult woman and adult man agree on some deal. We don't buy all the products in the grocery stores, so many of us won't partake. My concern is underage kids both selling and renting. We all know the pervs are not going to be looking for granny.

Well, duh. The sex industry is dominated by Asians. Both the kidnappers and the victims.

I can't walk 3 blocks in Manhattan without seeing the 'plain' or 'black' door of an AMP (Asian Massage Parlor). Hell, even Princeton has a couple.

A friend of mine is a Detective in the PPD. He told me they know every single massage parlor but don't bother them until a week or so before an election, in a bad economy - they do 'donate' to the PPD - or drugs are sold.

The lonely dude going to a 'rub n tug' is not an issue to the PD. The underage/kidnapped, rape, or drugs are.

I generally agree with some exceptions where society ends up being harmed by the private actions of consenting adults.

The governments role is to mediate and provide legal structure. That's legitimate. IOW that's who you go to if the John doesn't pay the agreed upon price. The government can require certain conditions that advance a legitimate societal interest such as causing sex workers to use protection and/or get tested for STDs. Etc.. Legalizing can be advantageous by bringing them in from the cold so they're less exploited and society is better protected from certain consequences like the spread of disease. It isn't called the world's oldest profession for nothing. It certainly isn't going away. Maybe there's a better way.
