Yes somenole Mexico has no laws regarding aliens and their borders. Only the US has those. 
That they are doing little to stem the flow of people illegally entering and crossing their country to do the same at the US border is the issue at hand. I don't have an issue with the current administration being aggressive about that issue. It's causing a huge problem for ICE and border communities. Expensive in money and human terms. Nothing wrong with calling them out and essentially forcing them to hold up their end.

It was an unusual situation for which Mexico was poorly prepared. Normally they enforce their border laws just fine. They can't manage a thousand or more people trying to get in at once.

Well since we don't either do we really either? 
But yes they do have laws and if they're not enforcing them and it has a significant negative impact on us then it's reasonable for us to object and take action IMO.

There are estimates that 10 miilion Central Americans have left their countries since the 1980â€s. Thatâ€s a lot of people moving through Mexico.

That would include a lot of Venezuelans who moved to Columbia and Brazil obviously.  That could well be the largest component of that.  I imagine a lot left Columbia in the 1980s for other reasons.  They didn't all come to the US obviously.

Maybe those countries are not Central America though.

Nicaragua is, and I'm sure folks left during the conflicts.

I clicked on this, and chuckled a bit. Large photo of Trump along with economic projections of some CHANCE of a recession in 2020.

My take is, suspicion might be a better term, that Trump wants to keep the trade deal with China in abeyance so he can appear to be tough on the issues, and then he gets one done mid-2020. Few will check the details, it might be the same one he could sign today. Same with Mexico. Mexico makes some noises about immigrants and Trump relents and declares victory.

Trade deals and Fed reactions would tend to pump the stock market which perhaps will trade in a range until that happens, and this perks up the economy and how voters view it and he gets reelected.

If folks like how their 401ks are looking, they tend to like whoever is President.

Trump understands sweeps week(Election 2020)......he's likely attempting to build for it.
