You can always pay someone... I loathe yard work and haven't done it in 25yrs (hired someone or HOA).

The day I took my first steps, my father put a rake in my hands. I cut grass and weeded and edged... since I was 8-9. Always had a $20 push mower that might start half the time. I got pretty good at trouble shooting and fixing the problem. I finally go off to school, come back on fall break, and my dad has a brand new riding mower from Sears sitting it the back of the garage.

Lol.  That is great.

I honestly don't mind mowing that much, but since my rider is on the fritz I/we have been mowing this monster with a push mower.  Wanted to get it done before I left for the weekend.  So while I was running a few errands for our trip, my son was mowing.   Lo and behold, when I got home he was almost done.  How convenient.    Tongue

I knew you'd been talking for a while about getting an apartment. Glad you like it. I wasn't sure I'd like apartment living when I retired and moved to Abilene, but I'm happy with it. Frees a body up to do things they want to do instead of things they have to do.

I really didn't want to pay someone to cut grass, etc because I had sowed a great lawn in zoysia grass and kept it perfect.  My wife loved the flowers, too.  Didn't want to have someone not keep it like we wanted it to look.

I'm just too old to get on ladders and fix things anymore.  Looking forward to doing other things which are fun and relaxing like Spark said. Looking forward to buying out of state for vacation condo to use as well. We were lucky this place was available right when I sold the house.  Took me little under 60 days to clean out the old home and sell things and move.  Very tiresome.

I give my wife a TON of credit for this move.  She cleaned, and hauled, and worked her tail off.  She  without doubt is one of the hardest working women I've ever met and did not complain.  Good woman.[Image: emoji1384.png]

Have to admit my wife is definitely the better part of this duo.

Hope you like the Apt. life keep us updated. we are trying to decide if we are going to pull the trigger on a move like that.
We have our eye on place being build that will basically be self contained meaning great Swimming pool with a outside bar. A roof top bar also with multiple TV's for entertaining and sports watching. And a few restaurants  and a 7,000 sq. ft Store on a bottom level .
And across the parking lot a Plant Fitness and a full size grocery store w/ a State Liquor Store and a Thrift store.

Damn, Tc, that is so cool and sweet.  Believe it or not I have a planet fitness I walk to just about 1/8 mile from my front door.  I joined and walk there to work out.  It's really nice.  Don't wait!!! Pull the trigger!!  I have no regrets at all.

EDIT: I know you pass this way on occasion going to Ironton, Ohio so PM me for a beer!!!

Have a great week coming up Tc

You know you donâ€t have to move to an apt. to get out of yard work. My back yard is all tile or pool. Front yard is rock and xeriscape. I do almost nothing. Occasional drip repair or trimming.
