Sounds like my school's typing teacher. She was 21 and right out of college. She was very attractive. The policy was passing shorthand & typing or not graduating. 50 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Luckily, I was able to focus on my typing long enough to pass.

So I tested my son today. It was a simple test. I read off a list of simple words and he typed them. He did need to look at the keyboard, but he actually did pretty decent. I'd call it an advanced version of "hunt & peck". Maybe that is sufficient.

The teachers parking lot of the township next to mine is littered with high end BMW, Mercedes, and Porsches.

A lot of them are married to other teachers or people who are high income so that double salary helps. I married the school cook so I didn't really benefit.

They taught it to us in 3rd grade, and it didn't really take.
I took it as an elective in HS, and it stuck.

How many programmers 'hunt and peck' while writing code in C++, .NET, etc? Typing is essential in those fields. Other fields not so much.
