I have eaten eel over here a number of time. Itâ€s not too bad, definite fish texture and taste. But I have to say swallowing a live one is not one Iâ€ve tried yet. How stopped up do you have to be to swallow a live eel? Not just one, but two.

now I have been at a restaurant where they served fish that was still moving - this is after it had been cut up at the table. But it stopped moving by the time it was prepared to eat.

Eel, yuck. I did try Gator and Calamari (squid). I know Gator isn't technically seafood, but close enough for me. Seafood smells like #hit.

I would take eel over gator, Iâ€ve had both and neither are my favorites but if I have to pick, it would be eel. The outside skin is slimy but prepared decently eel is OK. I like calamari, especially with a sweet and spicy breading.
Not bad for an old Ohio farmboy! But I donâ€t like oysters. Especially shooters. That will put me over the edge.

If I ever try eel, drinks will be flowing before that... they sure were for gator and calamari.

Oooooh lordy............there are definitely some foods over here that most certainly require some drinking first. It's a scale, is it a 3 beer food, a 6 beer food or a 10 beer food?

Seafood is simply not meant to be consumed by humans.  Itâ€s disgusting.  Seafood is natureâ€s version of “thereâ€s nothing else in the fridge, so as a last resort—before consuming your own feces—why not give this a shot?”

BBQed eel and eel sushi is awesome w/ a little teriyaki sauce. Back in Ukraine eel was also considered quite the delicacy by my grandparents. In NOLA last weekend I had giant head on spicy garlic shrimp-they were the size of a baby rabbit. Best seafood type thing I have ever had.

I'm OK with eating fish, shrimp, calamari (squid) and lobster, but no great love for clams and mussels. I'll eat them if that's what's being served but I'm not ordering them. Given my agrarian roots, I did, surprisingly, develop a taste for sushi. But I'm not eating it from a gas station.

Yes, eel sushi is alright.

The thing for me that always amazed me, and still to this day, is the interest in oysters of my family from SE Ohio. Back in the 30's and through the early 60's trucks would load up on oysters and head west toward Ohio.

Actually eating oysters in Ohio goes back a long way. There was a time when Grant met Sherman in Ohio and they went looking for a restaurant to find oysters to eat. Strange...

I didn't like seafood until I was 30, but tried gator long before that and thought it was delicious.

I was at a Chinese buffet a few months back, and they had "baby octopus" and it was literally a pan full of four inch whole octopi.

We've been served this, I thought my vegan Chinese wife was going to toss her cookies right there. I looked at her and said "Zhen de ma" (Really?), I mean she's seen about everything there is to see that is consumed in this country and this gets to you? I need some Limburger cheese at our next meal, that just might put her over the edge.

Yup. Every single survival course - any military/country - fish was the go to survival food. Even Jesus went the route of fish for survival. It's considered survival food to me.

I make meals consisting of fish almost daily for the 3 women while I eat the same eggs, grilled chicken or salad meals. They grew up on an island, so I give them a pass.
The America, and the American Military, that you once knew is gone.

"3 women".............if you are having 4 ways, I don't even want to hear it. I can't keep one woman happy.
