And here I thought that you were the greatest BB coach in HS history.

hmmmm, no I am not nor was not.  I quit back in the 80s.  I probably could have won a few if I had the players he did.  It helps greatly.

High praise.....

"People say Morgan Wootten is the best high school basketball coach in the country. I disagree," legendary UCLA coach John Wooden once said. "I know of no finer coach at any level -- high school, college, or pro. I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it here: I stand in awe of him."

This was my first thought as well. Do we know what happened with TB?

He got all worked up and threw in the towel probably 6 years ago. Had some bet with MrNovember over him being an engineer with a degree and was going to wager cash, etc.  Was really not worth arguing.  I liked that guy and wish he'd return but there is no way to contact him.  When he left that now defunct Nut House board he sent a PM and was gone.

Rolling out a girls basketball team full of dudes might fly today, but it would have been a pretty tough sell back in the 80s. Big Grin

Probably, but I never coached girls basketball at HS level.

No biggie.
I coached boys basketball.  I did start a HS girls softball team in 1983.  Did very well with them finishing second in the league to the eventual state champs and winning the sectional before playing them in the district.  They killed us.
