Thomas Herman and the Texas Longhorns... - BoyGenius - 11-24-2019

Less than a year ago Texas went to New Orleans and hit Georgia in the mouth for a Sugar Bowl win. That victory sparked a rousing proclamation by Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger: “We’re baaaaack.” Flash forward 11 months, and the Longhorns are decidedly not back following a 24-10 loss to No. 14 Baylor (10-1). It’s not exactly a surprise to see the Bears handle the Longhorns at home. That’s also the issue. Texas isn’t supposed to lose to Baylor. Texas isn’t even supposed to play Baylor close.

Welcome to Texas’ new reality.

There are a myriad of things wrong with the Longhorns. Injuries are a big problem. Youth is too. Yet it's hard to look at Baylor, a team that finished 1-11 just two seasons ago, and make any sort of excuse for a program with Texas’ talent to faceplant in this manner. The Longhorns rank seventh in 247Sports Team Talent Composite. The Bears rank 35th. This is a coaching and development issue. It’s evident when Texas has 104 penalty yards. It’s evident when Texas punts on fourth-and-5 from Baylor’s 44 in the first quarter of a tie game but goes for it on fourth-and-3 from Baylor’s 39 facing an 11-point third-quarter deficit. It’s evident when you watch Texas’ offense continually run the same quarterback power and zone-read rushing plays from the same formation. It's evident when defenders miss tackles and miss their run fits.
This was the year the Longhorns were supposed to take a step forward. Instead, they’ve fallen flat.

A long offseason full of critical decisions awaits Tom Herman... https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/College-football-stats-scores-takeaways-rankings-Week-13-139085709/#139085709_4

This sounds awful familiar.

When JT Barrett was injured, Cardale Jones came in and save us in the Xichigan game. Braxton Miller was out for the rest of the season so an un tested Cardale Jones went the rest of the season unbeaten and won the Natty. We all thought that he could only get better but we were wrong he regressed so much that he was only a shell of a player that he once was. His QB coach, Tim Beckman.

Fast forward to Texas when Texas beat Georgia everyone thought that Sam Ellingher the QB could only get better. What happened to Ellingher was the same thing that happened to Jones. Sam has regressed so badly that people are wondering what has happened. Both Sam and Cardale have one thing in common, their QB coach Tim Beckman.

Herman and Meyer that next year tried to pigeon hole C.J into that JTB Offense same easy to read and defend Offense Herman is running now at Texas.

Texas gets a great recruiting class every single year. They always manage to suck.

Thomas is culling his staff the day after they put the exclamation mark on their abysmal season.
Tim Beck was "demoted" from OC/QB to just QB coach... expect him to get the ax after the early signing period.
Reap what you sow...

I'm hearing USC might be letting Helton go this week. Been hearing this all season, too. The boosters are not happy. Swann is gone and the new AD has ties to Urban Meyer.

To be honest, I can't see USC letting Helton go right in the middle of the recruiting season unless it has struck a deal with Meyer, Stoops, Franklin. These are the names that have been popping up all along.

USC opens with Bama next season. If Helton is still coach and loses big does he coach the New Mexico game the following week?

Thomas Herman is a fake, a fraud, and a phony.
The first Texas decommit happened Sunday. Van Fillinger, a 4* DE decommitted.
I expect more Texas verbals to decommit.

The AD and Prez are very positive about Clay.......boosters hate him.

Guess which group gets its way? Boosters got rid of Swann - a USC darling/legend - it can get rid of Helton. Odd part is Helton had his best coaching year. He lost some offense, his starting qb, and still won 8 games.

I don't know what to expect as it's modern day coaching carousel burfle. I'd be shocked if he's let go without already inking a top name candidate.
