Guess which group gets its way? Boosters got rid of Swann - a USC darling/legend - it can get rid of Helton. Odd part is Helton had his best coaching year. He lost some offense, his starting qb, and still won 8 games.
I don't know what to expect as it's modern day coaching carousel burfle. I'd be shocked if he's let go without already inking a top name candidate. I get what you are saying......but it's Monday afternoon after the season ended and Clay is still employed.
Yup. Hearing mid week or job safe. Dude should get one full year with a healthy offense. I think he can win at USC.

USC just had a bye week too. They're balls deep into their off-season.

There is no guaranteed seat on the coaching carousel...

Yup. Starting qb out and offense lost a couple other starters.

I hope the following doesn't gain any traction:
With the early signing period nearing, USC is hoping to have a new hire lined up by the end of this week. Its top target: Urban Meyer.
The Trojans have been in talks with Meyer's camp for some time and there is optimism that a deal can be reached with the former Ohio State and Florida coach, sources said. Not all of the their eggs are in the Meyer basket, however.

I always wondered how he'd do at Texas, Clemson, USC. He'd have all the CA talent at his disposal. USC would have to open its wallet since CA taxes will take most of the coin. I heard Meyer, Franklin and Stoops names. The new AD has ties to Meyer. He's been out there all year at FOX. I'm not sure he takes the job even though he said 65 is old for a coach. He's in his 50's.
USC would be a very tough out for anybody with Meyer coaching. Be interesting to see his coaching staff since everybody is at tOSU. Strong would be a great D coordinator and he's available.

If UM goes to USC... shocked if Micky Marotti and Mark Pantoni don't go with him.

Meyer would kill it at USC. So naturally I hope that doesn't happen.

Would college football be better with Meyer at the helm at USC? Would it weaken some other schools or just add another team for the final four?  I hope Meyer takes the job but remember, he usually doesn't last very long before he's done. I think OSU may have been his longest stint. Yes, it was. He's good for about a 5 year run and shot at a title and then he slips.

He was at UF and was great there. Florida, California and Texas are your 3 top HS football states. You can argue the order, but those are your top 3. I agree about California, USC is the only big name on that coast/area.

It's the current environment. Dudes need to be told to keep their hands off the broads. Now, if he had a zero tolerance of broads doing the same to dudes I'd be ok with it. Let the school know his players are off limits. It won't happen since Ozero created the 'rape epidemic' on campuses.Â
Hyde should have sued Meyer and tOSU. No due process. He would have won. Countless examples of male students settling with the schools.
