A weak schedule and a weak conference doesnâ€t mean a team is weak. An off weak is hardly unusual. Clemson was great last year and likely is this year as well. Weâ€ll see down the road. IMO if they are clicking on all cylinders theyâ€ll be better than Bama again.

It's hard to get a handle on how good they are when they don't beat really anyone for the entire year. Now, they do play well once they are in so I'll accede that point.

Looking ahead to next Saturday there are two potential impact games. Auburn visits the Swamp to play Florida in a top 10 battle and Ohio State hosts Michigan State. I think OSU coasts again against a marginal top 25 MSU but the Auburn/Florida match up is an interesting game where one team will likely be eliminated from play off consideration.

Clemson slaughtered their two play off opponents last season, Notre Dame and Alabama, with a combined score of 74-19. They were the best team and it wasn't close regardless of who they played.

Clemson is young this year. Dabo said he has 80 freshmen and sophomores. That is unbelievable. I don't expect them to win it all this year. Alabama looks good and balanced, but then last year was the "best Bama team ever" according to a LOT of commentators. And they got shellacked.
This is the best Ohio State team I've ever seen, and I have seen a lot of Ohio State teams. But it's early yet and they haven't really been tested, so who knows?
Ohio State
Alabama or LSU
Georgia or OK (everything depends on Texas)
Clemson

I knew if I waited long enough, James would finally post something worthwhile. I knew Clemson had lost a ton of great players but didn't realize they were that young. No, they will not win it this year and even one loss would eliminate them from the playoff.

How do you have 80 Freshmen and sophomores? Even if you Redshirt nearly everyone.....which they typically don't.......and over recruit.....say they took 30 each the last two classes, that'd be 60. Did they really redshirt 20 players? Dabo's math is sketchy there.

I'm really trying to give James the benefit of the doubt here so don't mess it up.

We still have 4 good games left, Wisky, PSU, MSU and the skunks. Two trap games with NW and Maryland. If we clear them all we should be ranked #2 considering the SOS.

80 freshman and sophomores? Let's forget scholarships are capped at 85. How are 80/85 scholarship athletes Fr-So when their last 4 recruiting classes total 81 commits? If Dabo is including walk-ons, he's just being dishonest because I doubt walk-ons are getting significant PT.
2016: 21 commits
2017: 14 commits
2018: 17 commits
2019: 29 commits
I wonder how many in the 2016 class left last year for the NFL?
