Exactly.  Their justification is nuts (they use the Bible as their excuse.  I have yet to come across that verse), but whatever.

Everyone in America has rights today EXCEPT...  property/business owners.  Things that make ya go hmmmmm [Image: emoji848.png]
These people are racist trash. Don't give them rhetorical cover.
That said, yes, they should be able to rent to whomever they want-and that fact should be publicized.

It is publicized.  All over FB, etc...

Interesting question to pose for the board:  if personally not a fan of interracial marriages, does that automatically make one racist?  I donâ€t see it that way, but a lot of people do.  I donâ€t see any racial superiority undertones just by having that position.  Now you may be a racist AND also hold that position, but that position by itself?  Is it really racist?  [Image: emoji848.png]

In itself, it is not literally racist.  It probably does reflect other racist attitudes though.

It's a racist position, imo. Am I going to say they are card carrying KKKers or down with white nationalism-no, but it is a racist position, to be opposed to interracial marriage (and presumably the mixed race offspring that would result). Really, whom would you rather see your kid with-a hard working, responsible black or latino person, or a meth-ed out trailer trash out and proud Aryan?

Not wanting to personally participate in an interracial marriage ceremony isn't the same thing as opposing the legality of interracial marriage.

In an either or scenario, obviously the people that have their ***** together regardless of race.  But say all things are equal, is that position racist?

I kind of lit a fuse here and am about to leave for a cookout.  What could possibly go wrong in this thread?   Big Grin

I don't see them as racists but instead just people who want to associate and do business with people they are more comfortable with.  Most races are the same in that regard but of course only whites are attacked for it.

I would consider the aggressive promotion of IR marriage to be racist. So it is all in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

This is very true. Also, most people are perfectly capable of holding bigoted views and behaving perfectly well in mixed/public company.

Just curious-do you think Louis Farrakhan/the Nation of Islam is racist, given that his/their views on interracial marriage and race are essentially a mirror image of yours, but from a black pov?

Well, what about a white, hipster tech doucher with a good job, vs., say, someone like William White or Eddie George?

Farrakhan is racist period.  So his views on IR marriage wouldnâ€t be surprising

I think the term is extremely overused Syncro.  I would be more interested in knowing if they have ever rented out the facility to just blacks for a wedding.  That would work against the racism charge.  I do not trust the media and there is usually more to these stories than what is presented.
