QUESTION: How long until this new food "craze" implodes?
#1
KFC is to trial meatless "chicken" nuggets made from plants as it tries to further take advantage of the growing popularity of meat substitutes.
KFC is one of many fast-food chains experimenting with plant-based food.
Burger King announced a plant-based Whopper earlier this year.
Subway has also said it will test plant-based meatballs.

The weird millennials will stay with it. Normal people will never touch the stuff. They should cut to the chase and label it correctly. Soylent.

I'm in the Specialty Food Business and believe me the Plant based craze is out of control.
Beyond Meat which sounds like the Product they are using is simply En Fuego in Grocery stores even here in the Midwest.
I refuse to try it but sell the hell out of it.
I have tried a lot of the snacks and " Protein " bars and i must say some are not bad.
Had a Cauliflower Pizza and a Spinach based Pizza , The Spinach based was outstanding.

The Plant based craze i think is here to stay for awhile purely because unlike the GF craze which is still going on , the Manufacturers and Distributors have gotten up to speed rather quickly on making these products actually taste good.
Gluten took much longer and in the beginning if it wasn't made in Europe ( Where they been doing Gluten for years)
it tasted like well Crap.

Of note a local Americana / Mexican restaurant we frequent does a Taco of the month the Staff told me the Beyond Meat Taco was one of the most successful ones they featured this whole year .

I certainly didn't try one , but maybe i will if they bring it back.

That's called the Keto Diet the other rage going on now.

Low carb-High fat diet

Funny thing is eventually everyone dies from heredity , you can't change that no matter what you eat.

Like Jim Fixx who was partially credited with starting the running craze in the late 70's early 80's .
Thought to be one of the healthiest people alive.

Wife is doing Keto. I love it. Meat, rich sauces, good stuff. Then I turn it into the Cheeto diet by adding rices, pasta, or taters.

He may have actually extended his life. His father had a heart attack at 43. Fixx was an overweight chain smoker until 36. The way I see it everyone gets a starting hand. Whether you draw good or bad genetics how you take care of yourself will have an impact. So if you get bad genes and smoke and drink you may die in your 40s or maybe survive but be unhealthy with lots of problems. But if you take care of yourself maybe live a more normal life span and with better health. IOW you get a range of health from a genetic starting point. You can make it better or worse with your lifestyle.

If I can go out eating scrambled eggs and bacon everyday for breakfast, more meat and cheese for dinner and still lose weight, I'm pretty happy.
