Our System is not geared to managing the deficit and the debt. I can't see how it gets better at all, ever.

Very well said. Politicians today and the American people do not want to and will not take the steps to make real progress on the debt and deficit. I have given up any hope that we will ever see the debt lowered or even slowed. Neither party really cares. The two party system will be the death of this nation.
