I assume your libertarian self fully supports his ability to say this?

I'm fine with what he says. I disagree with him to a point. I think it would be better if he said gays or homosexuals instead of freaking queers. But whatever. I do like he didn't back down or grovel to political correctness even though I disagree with his point of view.
I like that gays aren't cowering in the closet anymore. I don't like that a person is generally going to be destroyed personally if they come out against that. We need to tack a little bit back toward the middle on the issue.

Of course. Is he free from the consequences of what he said?  No, but he's more than welcome to say it.  Kind of like with Hightop77 - it's better that people talk and tell you who they are.

so, who is he?  What do you read about him from that two line comment?

And yes.....I fully believe in the concept of consequences for actions.

If you watch the whole video, you get a good idea of who he is, as it pertains to this topic, based on what he said and the fact that he told the reporter, who wanted to interview him, that he wanted her to sit down and read what the Bible had to say about homosexuals before the interview.

You said that these type of comments are good to tell us who people are.....I'm curious who you think this guy is.

So.....what irks you the most. The negative comments about homosexuals or the fact that he bases it on the bible?

He's a bigot.

His comments.  I don't care how people become bigoted, but I do find irony in that it comes from the bible.

I think people cherry pick from things to confirm their biases or bigotry and that includes the Bible. I don't think the religion makes them bigots they find confirmation there.

One could read a couple lines on this board or another of your postings and call you(Pitch) a bigot....

Def'n: a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.

Would you defend a Muslim public figure this vigorously (in the NH) if they made a similar comment about gays, but referenced the Koran instead of the bible, as Muslims are wont to do?
