In my bio on X I mention that I do healthcare design in China. That has attracted 4 or 5 ladies to DM me. All are Chinese and all are attempting to get me to jump into cryptocurrency. They pretend to be interested in me and send pics of some very attractive and well dressed Chinese chicks (nothing racy) and try to draw me in, but after about two days I reveal I know it's a scam and that leads to each one magically disappearing. It's really kind of amusing.
Now that said, not all DM's are scams. I traded a few messages each with a lady and later a guy regarding a Bible passage I posted.
But about 2 weeks ago, I got a DM from a lady who said she was a nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and since she has a few Chinese colleagues she wanted to know more about healthcare in China. Mostly it was her asking some legitimate questions and me answering, a few each day. No hackles raised for the first 6 or 7 days or so. It was pretty innocuous. She gave what I describe as a basic but not very revealing answers to my questions about what she does. But at that point she become more personal in her line of questioning. She posted a couple of pics of her (really quite attractive) and at that point, my eyebrow raised. Serious naughty nurse vibes.
Said she had become quite fond of me in our exchange. Well, there's a huge red flag! We had been discussing things like nursing in China and infection control protocols. I mean, really, is she nuts? But I couldn't help myself so I played along a bit but noted that I am a married man. That had no affect on her how she said she was feeling. So now I'm thinking, either I shut her down immediately or this could be fun. I start off by asking more detailed questions about her job after she said she had a rough day. Told me that she had to care for a burn patient, an orthopedic patient and a covid patient that were on her In-Patient floor. That she was tired and stressed and that how much she would like me to be with her in Nashville to relieve her stress and massage her feet. She posts more semi-racy pics. I mean, i know its 100% a scam now. Plus, Keener and 3GS will know that that those patients would never be in the same In-Patient unit on the same floor.
I play along and respond to something like, it's a shame a beautiful woman like you can't find a boyfriend to take care of you. She responds, "Oh, I need a man like you." So now I decide it's time to wind this back down because I can tell what's coming. So the day before yesterday I tell her about my cardiology appointment from last Friday (this is true) and that I'm concerned about my health (also true). Her response was tepid about my health but more energetic regarding her attaction to me. So yesterday she said she had another bad day. I respond, oh that's terrible, what's up? I'm short on money for my rent. AND THERE IT IS! Just as I had predicted. I respond, that is terrible, but I cannot help you, it looks like I might need heart surgery (not true) and my insurance won't cover. This is so weird, I was just about to ask you for money.
So odd, no response from her to that. Who da thunk it? It's now been 24 hours. She unfollowed me. Huh, I'm just stumped by that. Doesn't anybody want a true relationship any more?
Anyway, while I got some satisfaction from taking down that scammer, I did decide to not not do that again. Too may potential pitfalls.
Oh, by the way, I did a reverse image research and discovered that "her" pics were really that of an Instagram model. Who has an OnlyFans account according the the real chick's X page. Haha, maybe I should post one of "her" pics here.

San Francisco 'can no longer be called progressive city,' newspaper declares after law-and-order measures pass
Progressives in the city acknowledged 'they're in danger'
An article in the San Francisco Chronicle declared the city "can no longer be called a progressive city" after the success of two law-and-order ballot measures on Tuesday.
Chronicle reporters Aldo Toledo and Joe Garofoli wrote that with the city voting "yes" on ballot measures that would require drug screenings for potential welfare recipients and increase police powers in the city, progressive policies appear to no longer be popular with residents.
The first of the two ballot measures, Proposition F, requires drug screening for people receiving public benefits and would force drug addicts to go into treatment if they want to continue receiving those benefits. The second, Proposition E, would give law enforcement better surveillance tools and rein in oversight over the force, allowing looser restrictions on car chases, for example.
The reporters added that, in addition to approving these measures, "voters also backed a slate of moderates to run the local Democratic County Central Committee, whose endorsements could reshape who is elected in San Francisco for years."
They spoke to supervisor candidate Marjan Philhour, said to be a moderate, who said that the local DCCC – which has been run by progressives – "has been out of touch with actual everyday Democrats in San Francisco. San Francisco Democrats want representation in their local Democratic Party."
"Progressives are looking at a thin bench of future leaders and staring down a deep-pocketed tech community that thinks their policies are destroying the city," the article stated.
Progressives in the city reportedly "are split on how to regain power, who should lead them and how they should change to win back voters. And they’re worried that moderates are going to continue to steamroll them with a huge financial advantage, fueled largely by wealthy donors."
The Chronicle spoke to "moderate" advocacy group "Grow SF" co-founder Steven Buss, who slammed progressives, saying, "They had their turn. They failed. Now it’s time for the city to move on."
San Francisco residents seem to have become fed up with the city’s soft-on-crime policies. Crime and homelessness in the Bay Area have become a plague for residents, local business owners, and tourists.
Big corporate franchises like Nordstrom and Macy’s have decided to pull stores from the area because of rampant theft, and their consumers being scared away by crime.
A spokesperson for Breed told Fox News Digital last week, "It seems as though the public here has had enough and is fed up and wants action on these issues."
The Chronicle noted how some progressives feel they aren’t too devastated by Tuesday’s results, noting that November’s election – where Breed faces challengers to her re-election – will be "a better barometer of San Francisco’s progressivism."
It detailed how progressives need to "rally behind better solutions when it comes to the problems that voters care about most, like public safety, housing, homelessness and the drug crisis," and provided examples of prominent progressives strategizing on how to get their messaging straight. The authors also observed, "one message progressives agree on is that they’re in danger."
They later added, "The bad news for progressives is that those moderates are winning. And they’ve got a lot of money behind them. And now, momentum."
Mayor Breed's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Five Guys' prices sparks outrage after $24 receipt goes viral: 'Highway robbery'
Users debated whether or not Five Guys burgers were worth the price
A controversial $24 receipt from a Five Guys restaurant has recently put social media users up in arms.
An X account named Wall Street Silver published a picture of the viral receipt, which he said he took from Reddit, on Mar. 1.
"Five Guys prices are out of control," the X user wrote. "$24 for one person."
The receipt shows that a bacon cheeseburger was sold for $12.49, along with a regular soda priced at $2.89. A small portion of fries was also added on – for a whopping $5.19.
The order total came to $21.91 with tax, and the buyer added a $2.19 tip – bringing the grand total to a pricey $24.10.
The X post has been viewed over 25.2 million times – and has sparked a debate about the beloved fast food chain's prices.
"I guess I was expecting about $12 to $15 per person for Five Guys," Wall Street Silver said on X. "$22 (without tip) just seems to cross a line. What is the right amount these days?"
Many X accounts were in agreement with the user and blasted the burger joint's prices.
"5 dollars for a small fry is highway robbery," one commentator wrote. "It's literally just a potato and some salt. Cost them a quarter to make."
"i know a way to save $2.19 on that real quick," a different user said.
"You ain’t seen nothing yet. Wait until that $20 an hour minimum wage in California kicks in," another X user predicted.
But other social media users weren't shocked by the price.
"Five Guys has always been more premium than others, though," user Ian Miles Cheong wrote.
"Five guys was always overpriced. Same meal was $15 ten years ago," an unimpressed commentator added.
Many fast food restaurants have raised prices due to record-high inflation over the past few years. Chick-fil-A prices have increased by 21% since early 2022, while Domino's Pizza CFO Sandeep Reddy recently said that the company plans "for a modest price increase in the low-single digits."
zigbee foodynews.com reached out to Five Guys for comment, but has not heard back.
