Barr Assigns U.S. Attorney in Connecticut to Review Origins of Russia Inquiry... https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/13/us/po...eview.html

[A]ssigned the top federal prosecutor... John H. Durham, the United States attorney in Connecticut, has a history of serving as a special prosecutor investigating potential wrongdoing among national security officials, including the F.B.I.’s ties to a crime boss in Boston and accusations of C.I.A. abuses of detainees.

Looks like the Democrats just got another person to demonize and commit character assassination against.  I'm sure they're thankful they've had so much recent practice with their full-force hit jobs on Trump, Kavanaugh, Barr, etc.

Not expecting much at all... smoke, mirrors, slight of hand, maybe a mirage or two.
The issue about bringing to justice Clinton et al is the fact the dems held power.  THAT IS GONE.   TRUMP now rules.   He cannot be brought down now and Barr is no dummy.   The congressmen such as Nunes and Gowdy and Graham are all on the same page.  These guys like Comey and Strozk all thought they were too damn smart to get caught.  It is unraveling.  The HUGE question in about Trump being reelected and getting a mandate to finish the work against the deep state.  I hope he is reelected.
My knee-jerk reaction is that Barr punted and that this thing will die a slow death.  We'll get piece meal nuggets of info here and there, but I suspect this will end with a thud.

On the one hand this will add legitimacy and remove any perceived conflict of interest, on the other hand I wonder if we will see the same amount of investigative gusto out of a guy that isn't working under Trump.

I don't know.   Confused

The punt would be not to do anything instead of hiring someone to investigate, and said investigator has history of going after criminals in higher places.

O/U on how long it takes for team Ma to get to him, if it hasn't happened already.
He's still breathing isn't he?

Big Grin

I suspect the usual.  Right now the muckrakers are scurrying to find an appropriate pressure point.  If they can't find one or two or ten?  Get ready for the smear machine we are now seeing work against Barr.  If that yields nothing?  Look out for the tried and true go-to moves of the past:  botched robbery, plane crash, car wreck, "suicide."  Not necessarily on this lawyer either.  More likely some of players at the FBI, CIA,  Huma, Weiner, Steel, et al    I mean if anyone actually believes that Ma and company are just gonna allow justice to play out...  Bunch a sweet kids.  Ma plays for keeps.
Trump will release classified documents when the time is right early next year. He's waiting for the right time.
In the mean time, the investigation needs to go high into the Obama administration as well as the dirty cops.
