Florida girl, 6, arrested for battery by school resource officer for temper tantrum: report

A Florida grandmother claims her 6-year-old granddaughter was arrested by a resource officer after throwing a temper tantrum at school — which she says happened because the child suffers from sleep apnea.

Meralyn Kirkland says the child, Kaia Rolle, was acting out at Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy, a charter school in Orlando, as a result of lack of sleep. The 6-year-old was then brought to the principal's office.

Kirkland told WKMG-TV that while there, a school staff employee grabbed Kaia's wrists, sparking her to lash out and kick her legs. The school resource officer — Officer Dennis Turner, of the Orlando Police Department — handcuffed Kaia and transported her to the Juvenile Assessment Center in Orlando on a battery charge.

Sleep apnea is the reason? Yeah, not buying it. Sleep apnea is treatable. Grandma currently reaping the consequences of failing to raise her children to be productive, stable citizens and and is now ruining her grandchildren.
A child under the age of 7 can't be convicted of a crime. Why was she arrested?

Because a dimwitted resource officer and the rest of the dimwitted staff couldn't handle a 6yr old girl...

When the grandmother, who looks like she's 50, is raising her grand daughter, you know there's an issue even before the moron officer and moron staff got involved.

Its a no win situation.  They restrain her without handcuffing and detaining her and they get fired and sued.  That might happen anyway.
Pepper spray and duct tape. It'll work. Just need to train the staff.

Good answer. Good answer. I like the way you think. I'm going to be watching you.
Bill Barr will be sending in the FBI soon to investigate as a hate crime.
