She won’t be around long. Presuming she has the most common type of pancreas cancer, her radiation treatments won’t  do much.  The only cure is surgery.  So the clock is ticking regarding a trump nominee during his current term.  As much as she hates Trump, I don’t see her stepping down.

My prediction is she will be pushing up daisies sometime in the Spring 2020...

I second that.  Trump is going to get another appointee.  The battle will be epic.   Trump needs to find a black woman to replace Ginsburg.

If she doesn't assume room temp by November 2, 2019 it'll be a moot point.

McConnell boxed himself into a corner when he held up Garland a few years ago.

If Trump gets another pick, it'll be Amy Coney Barrett.

Moscow Mitch already stated he's going through with the appointment. He knows he will have a fight on his hands but he also knows he might not have another chance after 2020.

If we thought nomination/confirmation of Kavanaugh was a circus Mitch pulling that stunt will set a whole new level of hysteria.

I don't think he'll do it, it would quite literally drive a wedge so deep between D/R that it wouldn't ever be reconciled (although we are probably already there)

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday that Republicans would fill a Supreme Court vacancy even if it occurs during the 2020 presidential election.
 
McConnell was asked by an attendee during a speech at the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce public policy luncheon in Kentucky what his position would be on filling a Supreme Court seat during 2020 if a justice died.
