LIST your favorite destination and let's also give props with some links to your favorite spots to stay.   I'll start with my stay in Wilmington NC and the Front St Inn.  Very cool place to stay:
http://www.frontstreetinn.com/   When visiting Wilmington I'd recommend it for nice breakfast and neat rooms they have.  Great location downtown for EASY walking about to the River Front  Area of Wilmington.

My stay in Georgia at Jekyll Island was at the BeachView Club Hotel.  Renovated and quiet and seconds from the beach.

Taking all things into consideration (proximity, amenities, food, view, weather, cost), without a doubt this is my favorite:

Puerto Penasco, MX

Las Palomas (not Las Palmas)

There are two phases: 1 and 2.  Phase 1 has the better pools, IMO.  Both are amazing.  The easiest way to book is through VRBO

Our favorite room, by far, is Diamante 303:

Nice. I think zig did the train when he came out here this year. The north rim is amazing.
I was amazed at how different the NR was than the SR......

One of the best experiences was sitting on the veranda of the NR lodge and watching a thunderstorm come at us from the east. Sheets of rain, lightening struck a tree in the canyon and set on fire, it was so cool to watch.

Northern AZ is stunning period. Sat on patio below the Vermillion Cliffs as a thunderstorm rolled in. The kind of dark you only get out in the middle of nowhere. When the lightning came you’d see just for a second that you were under these incredible towering red cliffs.

We did that in 2015.  Great time.  I still say I want to hike the floor of the canyon someday.  Probably cost a nice chunk though.  My sister said they took a nice raft ride through the canyon.  Calm water section.  Said they had a catered lunch at a nice little "beach" area.   Unbelievable scenery.     If I don't ever hike it, I'll have to give that a try sometime.   Cool
Geez zig it's hard to do links on the phone. If you Google the places they'll come up.

This doctoring thing of yours is getting in the way of your posting.  You need that broom closet, or men's room stall, to get away from those cackling hens for some more quality time.
